Youth Volunteers at Mira Mesa AYSO

A huge part of AYSO’s core values is bringing the community together, neighbors helping neighbors, volunteers helping kids, and everyone working toward something better for Mira Mesa.
That’s why volunteering is encouraged for youth ages 12 and older. It’s about more than soccer. It’s about learning responsibility, gaining independence, and discovering how good it feels to contribute to your community.

More Than Soccer
Youth volunteering with Mira Mesa AYSO teaches far more than rules and drills.
It teaches:
Leadership and accountability
How to communicate clearly and respectfully
How to work as part of a team
How to show up when people are counting on you
These are life skills, the kind that prepare students for high school, college, careers, and leadership roles down the road.

Ongoing supervision and mentorship
Our goal is for youth volunteers to feel confident, supported, and proud of the role they play.
