1. Import Your Team
Use GameChanger Team Manager (download from your app store) and sign in with the same email used in SportsConnect. Tap “Create Team” to auto-import your roster and schedule from SportsConnect.
2. Add Staff Members
Under the Teams tab, select Add Staff, and invite up to three helpers (assistant coaches, team parents). Each invited user gets full staff access.
3. Invite Fans & Parents
In the Team tab ➝ Fans, tap Invite Fans to add communities via email. For parents to access messaging/schedule/RSVP, add them as Family, not just Fans.
Create a Practice or Game
Go to the Schedule tab (or Events). Tap + Add Event, fill in date, time, and location. Choose Practice or Game.
Set Recurring Practices
For weekly practices, tap Repeats and set a recurrence pattern (daily, weekly, etc.), great for consistent scheduling.
Game Imports
Season games are automatically imported from SportsConnect, no need to enter them manually.
Arrival Time (U10 and Up)
For teams U10 and older, we recommend setting an arrival time of
50–60 minutes before game time for warmups, check-ins, and team talk. Add this to the
Notes section of the event so families know what to expect.
Save & Notify
After saving an event, select Save & Message Team to send notifications. Users with the app get push messages, others get email.
📍 Adding Locations & Notes
When creating or editing an event, you’ll find fields for:
-
Location: e.g., park name or field #
-
Notes: use this for arrival time, parking tips, drills you'll run, special instructions
These display in the in-app event details. The scheduler also sends hourly weather for games via the Schedule tab.
In-App Messaging
Tap Messages from the bottom toolbar, then the pencil icon ➝ pick your team. You can message:
-
Entire team
-
Custom group
-
Individual one-on-one
Pro Tips
-
Always use the message team function on the top of the home screen to send to the whole team, not messaging a group of individuals. Creating a new group chat individually can cause some parents to be left out confusion and frustration.
-
Use group messaging for general alerts (field changes, cancellations).
Email the Full Team
Use this for attachments or when some haven't downloaded the app:
Home tab ➝ Select team ➝ Message Team ➝ Email – this uses your phone’s email app.
🗓 Managing Attendance & RSVPs
Players and parents can RSVP and fill in health checks directly in the app before practices or games. You can then see RSVPs and health status by tapping the event in the schedule.
📝 Coaching Notes & Tips
-
Add event notes with details like warm-up start time or reminders (e.g., “bring black jersey”).
-
Location clarity is key. If it's a shared park, specify e.g. “Field 3 – near playground.”
-
Encourage RSVPs. It helps with planning and knowing who’s coming.
-
Model inclusive communication. Always message the full group—not just the eager few.
By following this guide, you’ll have a smooth-sailing setup for your team: clear schedules, easy communication, and no one left out. Want a printable one-pager or quick visual? I can whip one up for the website or coach folder.
