Playoffs and Tournament of Champions

Information for U10 and older Fall Core teams about postseason qualification, referee points, rosters, tournament dates, and next steps.

Tournament of Champions

At the end of the Fall Core season, the top performing U10 and older teams from Mira Mesa have the opportunity to advance to the AYSO Area 11R Tournament of Champions.

The Tournament of Champions, also known as TOC, is a competitive recreational postseason tournament featuring top teams from surrounding communities. It is a great reward for teams that finish at the top of their division within Mira Mesa, with the opportunity to continue on to regional and state playoffs.

Who Is Eligible?

Playoffs apply to U10 and older teams in the Fall Core season. Younger divisions do not participate in the Tournament of Champions.

Referee Points Requirement

All teams must earn 15 referee points during the season in order to move on to playoffs.

Please note that unattached referees have the freedom to assign their points wherever they choose. Teams should not assume unattached referee points will be applied to their team.

Roster Notes and Player Availability

Tournament rosters may be capped smaller than regular season rosters based on AYSO rules for each division. In some cases, this means not all players may be rostered for playoffs.

Tournament Fees

The Tournament of Champions fee is already included in Fall registration. There is no additional cost to participate in TOC.
