34th Annual AYSO Top Gun Tournament

Welcome to the 2026 AYSO Top Gun Tournament: San Diego’s home for competitive AYSO soccer over Memorial Day Weekend!

Bring your best game and take flight at Mira Mesa’s premier fields, where AYSO teams from across Southern California gather for two days of great AYSO soccer and sportsmanship. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills before summer or test your team against new competition, Top Gun is your chance to play fast, play hard, and have fun.
(Some local teams may play Friday evening; most games are Saturday and Sunday.)

Who Can Compete

Top Gun is designed for competitive AYSO teams ready for a challenge. Brackets are based on the Fall 2025 membership year, with multiple competition flights whenever possible.

AYSO Spring Select & All-Star
Any other competitive AYSO teams

Tournament Highlights

Three guaranteed games plus finals
Upper and lower flights (when bracket sizes allow)
Day of check-in with optional night before check in.
Custom Top Gun player pins
Trophies and medals for winners, and medals for finalists
Free parking and easy field access
Food vendors all weekend
All matches played locally at Wangenheim and Hourglass Park, right in Mira Mesa

$500 Tournament Fee
$300 Refundable Referee Deposit

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Top Gun only for AYSO core teams?

No, Top Gun is open to all competitive AYSO teams: EXTRA, Alliance, United, Select, and All-Stars.

Can we register before our roster is final?
Absolutely. Register early to secure your spot; you can update your roster later.

Mixed birth years on the roster?
That’s fine. Teams play in the age division of their oldest player.

Friday night games?
Optional. Indicate availability during registration, most teams play Sat/Sun only.

Referee requirements?
Each team should provide a referee crew of three, covering three matches total.
Partial or prorated deposits will be refunded based on coverage.

Independent referee?
We’d love your help! Please fill out our Independent Referee Form to volunteer, open to referees not connected to a registered team.
