What Referee Points Are Used For

Team referee points help determine eligibility for postseason play, including the Tournament of Champions and Area Playoffs.

Requirement 1

Teams must meet the minimum referee point requirement, usually 15 points.

Requirement 2

Teams must also have the best season record among Mira Mesa teams as shown in MatchTrak standings.

Important Reminder

No referee points means no playoffs, even if your team is undefeated.

Referee Point Notes

  • Each team must contribute volunteer referees to support the season.
  • Referee points reward teams for those efforts and are tracked separately from game results.
  • Points are awarded only for games officiated by trained, certified, and background-checked referees.
  • Coaches cannot referee their own game.
  • Top teams advance to the postseason only if they have met referee point requirements.
