How to view ref points

Matchtrak automatically tracks team referee points throughout the season. Here’s how it works and what to look for when reviewing your team’s progress.

🏆 What Are Points Used For?

Team points determine eligibility for postseason play such as the Tournament of Champions (TOC) Area Playoffs.
To qualify, teams must meet both:

  • A minimum number of referee points (usually 15)

  • The best season record among Mira Mesa teams as shown on Matchtrak standings

🧮 How Referee Points Work

Each team must contribute volunteer referees to support the season.
Referee points reward teams for those efforts and are tracked separately from game results.

Typical system:

  • 1 point for an Assistant Referee (AR)

  • 1 point for a Center Referee (CR)

  • Points are awarded only for games officiated by trained and certified, background checked referees.

  • Coaches cannot referee their own game

Referee coordinators update these totals weekly in Matchtrak.

To check your referee points, open Matchtrak → Standings → Points Detail and look for the “Referee Game History” table towards the bottom.

Top teams advance to the postseason if they’ve met referee point requirements.

💡 Helpful Tips

  • Referee points usually update midweek after each weekend’s games.

  • Encourage your referees to sign up early in the week, slots can fill up fast.

  • If your team’s referee points seem off, email [email protected] with the referee’s name, date, and game time.

  • Remember, no referee points = no playoffs, even if your team is undefeated.
