Mira Mesa Soccer All Stars

The Mira Mesa Soccer All-Stars Program is a short-term, competitive program for players in U10 and above who want to extend their season and challenge themselves at the next level, without committing to year-round club soccer.

⚽ What is All-Stars?

Each year, after the Fall Core season, players in U10 and older divisions have the opportunity to try out for All-Stars. These teams are made up of standout players from our fall program who show strong skills, great effort, teamwork, and coachability.

All-Star teams compete in a regional All Stars tournament held in early January, representing Mira Mesa against other top teams from Area 11R. These teams have the opportunity to advance to regionals and state championships

Core and want more advanced training
Are ready to play in competitive, team-first environments
Can commit to practices and games over winter and spring
Want to represent Mira Mesa on a bigger stage, and have fun doing it!
How to Register for Tryouts:
- Players must register below for the All-Stars Program
- No payment is required until your child is selected for the team

Eligibility

To participate in All-Stars, players must:Be registered and have actively played in the Fall Core season

Attend tryouts held at the end of the season
Commit to weekly team practices in November through January, the January tournament, and any progressions into the championships
Pay the fees associated with all-stars (~$70, includes tournament fees and full uniform kit)

Tryouts

All-Star tryouts will be held at Wangenheim Park:

📅 Tuesday, November 18 and Wednesday, November 19, 2025
⏰ 5:30PM – 7 PM
📍 Wangenheim Sports Park off Black Mountain Road

Players must register below for the All-Stars Program but payment is not required until your child is assigned to the team

What’s Next: Spring Select

Most of our All-Star teams go on to play in Spring Select, a competitive travel-based Spring season that runs from March to May (some Sunday games required).

Spring Select is:

Made up of returning All-Star players and others selected by the coach
A more competitive alternative to Core Spring soccer
Focused on higher-level play and regional travel
A great stepping stone between Core and Club soccer
Some teams compete in our annual Mira Mesa soccer fundraiser, Top Gun Tournament over Memorial Day Weekend
Teams play across Area 11R, including games in Mira Mesa, Scripps Ranch, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, and beyond.

2025 All-Stars

Overview

AYSO All-Stars is a continuation of play for players who played in the recreational division of AYSO in the Fall. All-Star play starts at the 10U division and continues through 16U. The All-Star season follows the intra-region Fall recreational season, with the tournament taking place on January 10 & 11, 2026. All-Star tournament is much more competitive than recreational play, and is often a stepping stone for those who wish to take part in the UNITED programs within AYSO. A full commitment to all All-Star games, tournaments, and practices is required to be considered for selection to the All-Star team.

Players for the All-Star teams are chosen by a committee and will consider the player's performance in the All-Star try-out and player evaluation that were completed by their Fall coaches. The All-Star Committee shall be comprised of unbiased coaches who will evaluate and rate all players that attend the tryout. Coaches with their own child participating in the tryout may sit on the committee, however, they will not evaluate their own child. At the end of the tryout all player ratings will be compiled and reviewed. The Coach Administrator will make the final decision on the roster with approval by the Commissioner.

Practice days and time will be determined by the coach and will run from when the All Star teams are formed until the All-Star tournament is completed on January 11 & 12, 2026.

Coaching

If you would like to be considered for one of the All-Star coaching positions please apply here. All-Star coaches are expected to represent Region 285 in a positive manner at all times. Coaches will be selected based on a number of criteria including, but not limited to: certification level, sideline behavior, coaching experience, adherence to the AYSO Philosophies, and support of the Region’s activities, etc.
